Sa’ad Kamal-deen Attains Ironman Status
Sa’ad Kamal-deen, a member of Run Club Abuja, made history by conquering the grueling 70.3 Triathlon in Abuja. On November 3rd, 2024, he pushed his limits and emerged victorious, earning the prestigious Ironman title.
The scorching November heat couldn’t deter Sa’ad’s determination. He kicked off his challenge with a powerful 1.9km swim, slicing through the waters of the National Stadium pool. Next, he hopped on his bike and embarked on a challenging 90km ride through the bustling streets of Abuja, accompanied by his fellow cyclists from the 76 Cycling Club. He completed this ride with a new personal record!
The final and most daunting challenge awaited: a 21.1km run under the blazing sun. With temperatures soaring to 39 degrees Celsius, Sa’ad pushed through the pain, fueled by the unwavering support of his Run Club Abuja teammates paced him. They cheered him on, every step of the way, ensuring he crossed the finish line with a new personal record!
In the end, received by his proud wife, mum, and siblings, he prevailed! A newly minted Ironman in in every right!
