Run Club Abuja Hall of Fame: Celebrating Our Gladiators
At Run Club Abuja, we don’t just run, we conquer. Every stride is legendary and it tells a story. Among them are a special group of runners, who over the past month have conquered the 25km to 50km mark. We call them The Gladiators, warriors of endurance, patience and sheer willpower.
These runners didn’t just lace up and hit the road; they pushed past limits, silenced the voice of doubt, and embraced the beautiful madness of distance running. Today we celebrate them in our Hall of Fame not just for the kilometers they’ve crushed, but for the inspiration they bring to the rest of us.
Meet the Gladiators: Legends of Long Distance
Each Gladiator carries their own unique story, motivation and dreams. Here’s a glimpse into their world:
- Moses Odogwu
Distance: 50km
“I feel proud, grateful, and stronger each time I push beyond my limits. Running fuels my ART, just as PAINTING reflects my inner journey. I hope to complete more marathons, improve my personal best, and inspire others. Beyond the races, I aspire to keep growing in both Art and Life.” - Temilade Oluremi Adegoke
Distance: 30km
“Truth? It was tough, but I ‘toughed’ it out. Legs knew something happened. Future aspirations are in the future.” - Hangem Daniel Lorhem
Distance: 30km
“I feel inspired each time I set a new personal record. Seems like I might run my first full marathon someday after all.” - Uche Onuoha
Distance: 50km
“ I feel tired but not tired and I look forward to conquering more kilometers.” - Jonathan Hussaini
Distance: 28km
“I really wanted to break my own record, even though I questioned myself while running. It was tough but totally worth it! A full marathon is totally possible.” - Peju Lawanson
Distance: 30km
“I feel privileged to be able to run. I broke my 30km PR on this run and look forward to smashing more milestones on my fitness journey.” - Okonkwo Arinze Jesse
Distance: 45km
“Was it worth it, yes! I feel proud to have conquered another 30km ish, even though it came with a lot of pain. The experiences like running under the hot sun and dealing with cramps made it tougher. Nevertheless, I’m super proud to have done my 4th 30km run in the space of 4 months and I look forward to running my first ever marathon ASAP.” - Labisi Ajadi
Distance: 32km
“Mixed emotions – sunburnt, but I feel good. I run to quiet the pain, and in those moments I find a kind of release that makes me feel lighter. Running is not just about distance for me, hence why I never care much for pace, it’s about healing, discovering myself, and pushing beyond limits But for my knees, I don’t think there’s yet a distance I can’t cover, whether running or walking. I hope to keep going farther, to add more miles not just to my legs but to my journey. One thing I especially look forward to is experiencing the thrill and calm of a long midnight run, where it’s just me, the road, and the silence.” - Uche Okeleke
Distance: 33km
“I always say that long runs are not for me, and this 30km run last week just reaffirmed this. But did I die while at it, F*%K NO!!….would I jump at the opportunity for another one, HELL TO THE F^€K YEA!” - Odia Victor
Distance: 32km
“Running teaches you how life can be. Sometimes, the conditions are favorable, and sometimes, it isn’t, yet we still find ways to do the things that must be done. A beautiful lesson from a long run with harsh weather conditions.” - Valentine Vandi
Distance: 30km“It was a tough challenge, but the joy lies in pushing past limits and embracing the life lessons running teaches. Especially with the support of this amazing community. I’m looking forward to breaking even more.” - Jahnedu Ibekwelu
Distance: 50km
“It’s always a pleasure to get a long run in with the guys. Group run always beats running alone. Will do it again, and again, and again.” - Ebhohimen Justice Abraham
Distance: 26km
“Well for the running part, it felt very easy , more like I could absolutely do more because my workload in terms of distances weekly is quite a lot. But then other sports give me the energy to stay relaxed running.” - Buchi Onyegbule

“Ban the sun. Seriously though, I am proud of the entire gang that did this. Really proud of everyone. I look forward to more and more of this from the community, pushing boundaries together and helping each other achieve milestones.”
